CHIPSEAL:

In Asheville cracks in asphalt can allow water to seep into the paved surface, exacerbating the effects of aging and causing a great deal of damage. If the cracks are not filled and sealed properly, you may be looking at an expensive pavement overlay instead of cost-effective chip sealing. Fortunately, Craftworx offers professional chip sealing services that can repair the cracks in your road or parking lot and provide a much smoother ride for everyone. We specialize in everything from pavement cracks to double chip sealing, and our attention to detail is beyond compare. With almost 30 years of family experience in the asphalt industry, you can count on our reliable, hard-working team for the best possible results.

WHAT IS CHIP SEALING?

Chip Sealing is the process of applying liquid asphalt followed by crushed aggregate. Then, pneumatic rollers embed the aggregate into the fresh liquid asphalt. At Craftworx, our chip seal process will offer excellent results whether you have a maintenance project or new construction.

TYPES OF CHIP SEALING

Single-Chip Sealing

Re-surfaces, protects and prolongs the life of an existing surface with a soft, flexible polymer sealant. This thick asphalt membrane is waterproof, bonding the new aggregate to the surface and providing a skid-resistant surface that is particularly effective on wet pavement.

Double Chip Sealing

A double application that controls dust, stabilizes the surface and creates a durable “pavement type” road or parking area. This two-layer application is applied one immediately after the other and can utilize either 3/8 inch pea gravel or decorative stone, depending on your finished surface preference. Double chip sealing is perfect for roads with severe pavement cracks, open texture roads,  or porous surfaces.

BENEFITS OF CHIP SEALING:

  • Great for sealing pavement cracks

  • Seals small cracks and imperfections in existing surfaces

  • A fraction of the cost of paving
